NORCROSS — A former Atlanta Falcon is hoping to rise up — into a state House seat.
Dewey McClain, a linebacker with the Falcons from 1976 to 1980, announced over the weekend his candidacy for Georgia State House District 100. Currently president of the Atlanta-North Georgia Labor Council, McClain retired after spending 22 years working for the city of Atlanta. He and his family have lived in Gwinnett for 35 years.
He will run as a Democrat for the spot vacated by Rep. Brian Thomas.
