The House Study Committee on Medical Education
The committee previously heard testimony regarding the need for additional doctors to meet growing demands, as well as some innovative approaches that are changing medical training in Georgia. The third meeting will focus on rural health issues and the difficulty in recruiting physicians to small towns.
The House Study Committee on Medical Education, created by House Resolution 1722, is chaired by State Representative Butch Parrish (R-Swainsboro). The committee is charged with identifying ways to bolster medical education within the state and retain more Georgia educated practitioners.
