GRTL is planning a Pro-Life Lobby Training Day at the Capitol. This is a time when you and your friends can come and learn how to lobby at the State Capitol. The class will be basic training for those who have never been to the Capitol or know very little about the legislative process. It will even be a great refresher course for the seasoned veteran!
On February 19th in room 417 in the Capitol, we will hold a lobby training seminar. We will begin at 10AM with a time of classroom teaching. I will teach some of the basics concerning what every citizen should know about how to contact and converse with state legislators on pending legislation.
At 11AM we will start our tour of the Capitol showing you the places you need to go to in order to be an effective citizen lobbyist. We will also show you how to page a legislator on the floor of their chamber to come out to the hallway and discuss pro-life legislation with you. We will then move over to the C.L.O.B. (Coverdell Legislative Office Building). This is where additional legislative offices and committee hearing rooms are located. We will tour the Senate and the House offices where most of the legislators work.
At 12 noon we will stop for lunch on the 6th floor of the CLOB, which houses the cafeteria. This will give us a time of fellowship while enjoying our lunch. You can eat for around $5-$10. There is everything from full course meals to short order sandwiches. As our lunch concludes we will have a Q&A time to discuss some of what you have seen and heard.
We have designed this training to be time sensitive to your schedule, yet comprehensive enough to make it well worth your time. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have at firstname.lastname@example.org.
