River is a 2-year old female Hound mix who is available for adoption from the Carroll County Animal Shelter in Carrollton, GA.

River is a 1 year old Hound mix who came in with her sister, Creek. River is a little shy at first, but she warms up with patience and treats! River is a little more outgoing than her sister, but she still needs a little time to learn to trust new people. River has been outside most of her life, but she is young enough to learn to be inside if that is what her new family would prefer. River is a good medium sized dog, standing right about knee high and weighing about 45 lbs. She likes head scratches and does not seem to mind other dogs, but we always suggest a meet-n-greet if you have other dogs in the home. River and Creek would be happy to find a home together but are also available for adoption separately.

Cinnamon is a 2-year old female Hound mix who is available for adoption from the Carroll County Animal Shelter in Carrollton, GA.

Cinnamon is a 2 year old Hound mix who is super, super sweet, like her name suggests! Cinnamon was adopted from a different shelter in the fall of 2023. Her owners surrendered her to us stating that she was dog reactive. Since she has been here, the staff has not seen any dog reactivity and her previous shelter did not notate that either. However, she could be territorial in a home, so we do advise that she go to a dog only home to be safe OR we at least will require a meet-n-greet with the other dogs in the home. Cinnamon walks well on a leash, smiles big for her friends, and is mostly well-mannered.

Bonnie is a young female English Coonhound mix who is available for adoption from American Black and Tan Coonhound Rescue, Inc. in Tybee Island, GA.

Bonnie means “pretty” and this young girl certainly lives up to her name! This petite, 1 year old coonie is stunningly beautiful and sweet as can be. Bonnie is making phenomenal progress in her foster home after being rescued from a situation in which food and human attention were both scarce. Underweight now, her ideal weight will be about 45 lbs. We know that her mom was a Redtick Coonhound and that there were several male coonhounds on the property that could be her father.

She’s experienced A LOT of firsts since becoming an ABTCR pup: she now knows that loving, toys and treats are pretty amazing! Bonnie is shy and submissive at first but warms up quickly. She will often smile to greet you and your heart will melt when she flashes those pearly whites! Bonnie is a playful pup that would thrive with an active family and a doggie playmate. Bonnie gets along well with other dogs. She is curious but quite respectful of the cat in her foster home. She can get startled easily and doesn’t quite realize how strong she is, so a calm home with older or no children would be best. She is doing well with housetraining and cratetraining and leashtraining is coming along. She learns very quickly and with patience and consistency in her training, she will continue to blossom. Bonnie is not terribly vocal all the time but will bark when she wants something or is unsure of a situation. Bonnie has so much love to give and is sure to be your bestest friend for many years to come! She is waiting in the Augusta area.

Chief is an 18-month old male Black and Tan Coonhound mix who is available for adoption from American Black and Tan Coonhound Rescue, Inc. in Tybee Island, GA.

Chief is an 18 month old Black and Tan boy waiting in the Augusta area for a new home after being picked up as a stray. His foster mom describes him as “an impossibly cute, audacious puppy!” Chief is very social and likes to be around his people and other dogs as much as possible. He is a quick learner and has picked up “sit,” “touch,” and “crate” in two weeks and is working on “stay.” Underweight at 52 lbs now, he LOVES food, toys and tennis balls, and baying. Playing tug-of-war or fetch is a favorite, too. He is housetrained and working on cratetraining and leashwalking. Chief would do well with other dogs his size that are patient with the usual puppy antics. NO cats, please. Chief is one of those coonies that has such a joyful outlook on life that any mischief is forgiven; he will make an outstanding companion with continued training.

French Fry is a young female Labrador Retriever mix who is available for adoption from One Love Animal Rescue, Inc in Savannah, GA.

Hello, my name is French Fry! I am about 6-months-old, and am the sweetest girl. I’m a pretty playful pup, which became obvious after I fractured my elbow while roughhousing with my brother (oops!). Luckily, I am completely healed and looking for my forever home. I love to romp around with my foster siblings, go on walks, and play with my toys. I am still working on my potty-training and manners (hey, I’m still a puppy!). I understand commands, like sit, and am still eagerly learning more. Cuddling with people is one of my absolute favorite things to do and I am excited to go on some adventures with my new adopters. Don’t miss the opportunity to bring me into your life. Fill out an application for me today!

Oliver is a young male Hound and Beagle mix puppy who is available for adoption from Furever After Rescue in Macon, GA.

Oliver was a stray picked up by Baldwin County Animal Control and found himself on the list to be euthanized. FAR stepped up to take him in. Before he made it out of the shelter he came down with parvo, but has made a full recovery! Oliver likes to be with his hooman and will follow you around everywhere. He listens well and is good about coming when his name is called. Oliver would do great with a family or person that will include him in their daily life. Someone or a family that will take him on adventures and fun activities. He loves to be included in anything.

Roxy is an adult female Jack Russsell Terrier mix who is available for adoption from Furever After Rescue in Macon, GA.

I am fully house-trained and crate-trained, although my foster parents leave me out of the crate when they are not around. I spend most of my time sleeping anyways. I would prefer to be the only dog in the home. I also don’t like cats very much. I have never been around children inside a home but I have met a couple on walks and I seem to like them. Low energy but I enjoy going on short walks.

Before coming to FAR, I was surrendered due to a cancerous mass. Since then, I have undergone three surgeries to remove the masses. The vet mentioned that there is still a possibility that the cancer may have spread to other parts of my body. There is also a possibility that the cancerous masses that were removed will come back. The type of cancer I have is an aggressive form of doggy breast cancer. However, I have been doing well and have been gaining weight under the care of my foster parents. I am a senior dog with special needs, but I am still a loving and sweet companion. I am hoping to find a peaceful and comfortable place to spend my golden years.

Lolli is an adult female Boxer and Terrier mix who is available for adoption from Furever After Rescue in Macon, GA.

I was rescued from the Baldwin County Animal Shelter when I was pregnant with 12 puppies. All my puppies have found their furever homes, and now it’s my turn! I am a low to medium energy dog. I do get excited when I play with my foster fur siblings, especially outside, but I know when it is time to calm down. When I’m not playing, I do very well with relaxing with my humans or chewing on a bone.

I love getting pets and belly rubs! I LOVE being with my people and tend to stick close to them whenever I can. I also love playing with my fur siblings or playing fetch in the yard with a ball or a stick. I LOVE water and will try to drink from the hose when you water your plants! I am very sweet and loving. I love to snuggle up on the couch with you. I am so incredibly soft and fun to pet, and I love being pet too. I am playful and always ready for an adventure!

I am VERY well trained, both off and on leash. I know sit, down, here (recall command), drop (for fetch), and place; I will also hold these commands reliably during duration work. I am very food motivated which makes me eager and easy to train!
