If you are looking to adopt a puppy, you will want to check out sisters Monica, Rachel and Phoebe. Three super cute, ten week old, lovable Labrador mixes perfect for an active family with children. Monica, Rachel and Phoebe all have shiny black coats and already weigh seventeen pounds. They will be large dogs when full grown. These chunky charmers are outgoing, playful, and very affectionate. All have boundless energy and love to wrestle and play. They are just the right age to begin learning basic obedience and are not housebroken. Like most young pups, Monica, Rachel & Phoebe are full of mischief and curiosity too.
Aubie is a rare find. He is a mix of Pharaoh Hound and Vizsla which are both active large sporting breeds. Pharaoh hounds have the unique ability to blush when excited; turning their nose and ears a rosy red. Aubie is quite handsome with dazzling amber eyes and an easy to maintain cinnamon-brown coat. Nine months old, he is a friendly playful pup and the perfect pet for anyone that enjoys an active lifestyle. Loving and gentle, he is good with children and other dogs. He has not been around cats, but we can test that for you. Aubie is still quite young and will need additional training.
Meet Champ, a super sweet pup that is family friendly and kid approved. This handsome hunk is a four year old Treeing Walker Coonhound that weighs fifty-eight pounds. This happy-go-lucky boy is super affectionate and playful. Champ adores people and prefers to be your companion from sun up to sundown. He’s ready to hit the trails or simply sit by your side while you enjoy a cup of “joe”. Should unexpected company arrive, Champ will alert you with his glorious hound dog bay.
Effingham County will open its first dog park, according to the Savannah Morning News.
Effingham County’s first dog park will open soon at Pineora Park and two more are in the works.
County Administrator Tim Callanan said dog parks and walking trails are the two most requested passive recreation features at county parks. “We anticipate the dog parks will be a popular attraction,” he said.
Commissioners on Feb. 2 unanimously approved on first reading changes to the county animal ordinance that were needed for the parks and were scheduled to vote on the changes on second and final reading Tuesday.
Dog parks also are planned at the Clarence E. Morgan Recreation Complex, on Ga. 21 in Springfield, and at the McCall Road Park on McCall Road.
Cami, who is now 8, had to come back to PAWS Atlanta after her longtime owner passed away. She is a calm, joyful dog and she is so, so sweet. She walks on leash like a dream. Cami would prefer a calm home where she could have some time to explore the outdoors and get some fresh air each day. She loves people but would prefer to be the only dog in her home.
Cobalt is one of the super cute little Labrador/Heinz 57 mix pups from the Elements Litter. He is 8 weeks old will be ready to go to his new home on February 20th.
His momma (Lillybelle) is 58 pounds, but we do not know who his dad is. We are guessing that he and his siblings will reach about 50 pounds or so when full grown.
Cobalt’s foster family says that he is a little shy, a bit feisty at times, and that he loves nuzzling into your neck and sleeping close by. He is food motivated, very lovable, and loves to play.
Dia is a lovely, sweet girl who likes to show off her sassy smarts. Like how she can get out of the fence, only to sit on the other side of it as a taunt. She is a lovable girl who enjoys cuddling up with her family. Dia is good with other dogs and came to us from a large household. She is also good with kids, but she can be very bouncy and can easily knock small children over. She is a little unsure of leaving her home, so she is quiet with us for now and is only starting to come out of her shell.
Dainty Tallulah Belle is around 10, and has just been diagnosed with a tumor near her heart that is terminal. It is about 2” big right now and her blood flow is fine, but what can’t be predicted is how quickly it will grow. There is nothing we can do but find her a calm, loving home for the rest of her days. She could live for a month or a year, no one knows. What we do know is she is a real sweetheart that loves to explore on beautiful days like today and also snuggle with her people. Who has room in their heart and home for Tallulah Belle?
Diego was born with a grade 4 heart murmur. He is living a trouble free life and is not having any Heath issues. He has thrived in our care but would really like a part of a loving home.
