Adoptable Georgia Dogs for July 8, 2014

The first three dogs today are on death row at Barrow County Animal Shelter, scheduled to be euthanized tomorrow unless they are spoken for by 4 PM today. If you are interested in adopting, visit the Barrow County Animal Shelter volunteer page on Facebook. You may also email Kimberly Perez at the Barrow County Shelter or phone the shelter at (770) 307-3012.

Faye2

Faye is a 3-5 year old female Lab mix who loves people and is described by volunteers as “a hoot” and “really likes kids.”

Faye is on the euthanasia list for tomorrow at Barrow County Animal Shelter and must be spoken for by 4 PM today if she is to survive.

Faye

Hank

Hank is a 3-4 year old male Hound dog who is already neutered and ready to go home with a new family. No-charge adoption may be available, but he must be spoken for today by 4 PM or he will be euthanized tomorrow morning.

Zarri2

I can’t look at Zarri, a friendly 2-year old Shepherd mix, without thinking of my own senior rescue dog, Roxy, who had a tan coat and black muzzle (now white) when she was younger. You can tell from her photos that she loves people.

Zarri is on death row, scheduled for euthanasia tomorrow at Barrow County Animal Shelter. You can save her by filling out adoption papers and getting them in by 4 PM today.

Zarri1

FreedomFreedom is one of the Georgia SPCA Momma dogs. They rescued her pups early in May. When she was not adopted from a N. Georgia Animal Control, they went back to rescue her also. Freedom is a sweet, calm slightly older dog. She is heartworm positive and will need 30 days of treatment. She is available on a foster-to-adopt plan until her heartworm treatment is completed. She is currently at the SPCA shelter in Suwanee, Ga if you would like to meet her.

This pet is eligible for “Paws for Consideration.” Take them home for a few days and see if they fit into your household. Find out more at georgiaspca.org.

Liberty

Liberty is a young female listed as a German Shepherd/Lab mix, but I think she’s a hound.

She has had a hard life up until now. She was dumped at animal control with her 7 teenage pups by an uncaring family that didn’t care if she was instantly put to sleep. Luckily, animal control found space for them and gave them a chance at a great life. We were able to save Liberty and 1 pup, Tommy who is also available.

Liberty is a young friendly girl who could use some confidence when it comes to leashes and real pet dog life. Even though she is a larger dog, she would be fine in an apartment with walks or a house with a yard. She enjoys playing with other dogs and is ok with cats. However, if your other dog likes to pick on your cats, she will too. Because she lacks confidence, she follows the lead of more dominant dogs. She is 3 years old, about 60 lbs, spayed and heartworm negative.

Liberty is available for adoption from Heart of Georgia Humane Society in Macon, Ga.

Bell

Bell is Foxhound & Australian Shepherd Mix, 3 years old and such a sweet loving girl. She gets along great with other dogs and is great with kids. She is currently at the YDC where she gets to entertain the kids and the staff daily. Bell would be a very nice family dog or companion for another dog.

Bell is available for adoption from the Humane Society of NWGA in Dalton, GA. Go to www.hsnwga.org to apply for Bell.
