Brookhaven Mayor J. Max Davis, who is running for a seat in the Georgia House of Representatives, announced today he’s resigning from the city.
Davis is a candidate in a July 14 special election to fill the vacancy created when Rep. Mike Jacobs, R-Brookhaven, was appointed by Gov. Nathan Deal last month to serve as a DeKalb State Court judge.
