Gov. Nathan Deal today announced the appointment of the Honorable Jean-Paul “JP” Boulee as Superior Court judge of the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit and the Honorable Michael James “Mike” Jacobs as State Court judge of DeKalb County. Boulee fills the vacancy created by the resignation of the Honorable Cynthia J. Becker. Jacobs fills the vacancy created by the appointment of the Honorable Eleanor L. Ross as federal judge for the Northern District of Georgia. The appointments will take effect upon swearing in.
Jean-Paul “JP” Boulee, Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit
Boulee is a partner with Jones Day in Atlanta. He previously served as a captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Boulee earned a bachelor’s degree in Politics from Washington & Lee University and a law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. He and his wife, Julianne, live in Decatur and have two children.
Michael “Mike” Jacobs, State Court of DeKalb County
Jacobs operates a solo law practice in Sandy Springs. He serves as the District 80 representative in the Georgia House of Representatives. Jacobs received his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. He and his wife, Evan, live in Brookhaven and have three children.
