Marietta, GA – Standing before the famous Earl Smith Strand Theatre on the historic Mariettta Square, U.S. Congressman Phil Gingrey, MD, today announced his support of Jack Kingston to be Georgia’s next Senator.

“Through the years Jack Kingston and I have been colleagues – and more importantly friends – he has been a relentless advocate for our shared conservative principles,” said Gingrey. “Today I am proud to announce my support for Jack to be our next United States Senator from the great State of Georgia.”

“With the needs and values of Georgians serving as his barometer, Jack has always put Georgians first. He is a hard working and proven leader who has stood strong fighting for the expansion of the Port of Savannah and has been a tireless champion for our national defense and our veterans. We can count on Jack to continue fighting to cut spending, restore order to our nation’s fiscal house, and spur private sector job creation.”

“I have every confidence that Jack will serve us well in the United States Senate and am pleased to back his campaign,” he concluded.

A native of Augusta, Gingrey attended Georgia Tech and later the Medical College of Georgia before launching a pro-life OB-GYN practice in Marietta.  He served on the Marietta School Board and in the Georgia State Senate, and was elected to Congress in 2002.

In Congress, he has distinguished himself in the fight to improve health care for all Americans – he continues to provide volunteer medical care at a clinic in Marietta – and as an advocate for robust private sector job creation.

Kingston accepted Gingrey’s endorsement and thanked him for the leadership he continues to show on behalf of Georgia families.

“Phil Gingrey is a leader for Georgia’s values and the fight to repeal Obamacare,” Kingston said.  “I am honored to have his support in this race and know his wise counsel will be invaluable in our fight to take back the Senate.  Having worked side by side with Phil, I know that he, like me, will never back down when it comes to standing up for the conservative cause.”

“I also know that the Team Gingrey is a family enterprise and I hope to earn the support of his wonderful wife Billie, his children, Billy, Gannon, Phyllis, and Laura, and the extended Gingrey Family as well.  I have seen them all along the way and know they all share Phil’s unyielding resolve to make this country a better place,” he concluded.

Kingston is a candidate for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate which will be determined in aJuly 22 runoff election.  Absentee ballots will be available starting June 7 with early voting beginningJune 30. For more information visit
