GA 11- GOP Congress Primary: Let’s Go Polling

Your Washington – GA 11 – Desk:

Two polls and a response  - all in one day.  First, Barry Loudermilk releases a poll.  A few hours later Ed Lindsey releases a poll.  Then, Bob Barr has the final word of the day:

From Barry Loudermilk:

The Barry Loudermilk for Congress campaign today released a new poll showing the race a dead heat between former State Senator Barry Loudermilk and former Congressman and Libertarian U.S. Presidential candidate Bob Barr.

“Barry Loudermilk has built a great base of support in all counties, across all constituencies,” said Rob Adkerson, Loudermilk’s campaign manager. “This poll shows our hard work is paying off, and it puts us in prime position to earn a spot in the likely runoff in May and to win in July.”

From Ed Lindsey:

Thanks to your strong support, my campaign for Congress in Georgia’s 11th District is picking up steam.

According to a recent poll conducted by John McLaughlin, the pollster for Governor Deal and Lt. Governor Casey Cagle, we are in second place (15%) behind Bob Barr (25%) leading up to the Republican Primary.

From Bob Barr:

“We are aware that at least two of Bob Barr’s opponents have released polls favoring their clients, and we expect more of the same in coming weeks.  This is simply politics as usual for candidates who trail the front-runner.  The one thing both these polls have in common is the name Bob Barr as the candidate to beat. Bob’s political opponents have verified what we have said all along — that Bob Barr is the front runner in this race.”  — DEREK BARR, Campaign Manager, Barr-Congress.
