Bert Reeves, candidate for State House District 34 – currently held by Charles Gregory, today condemned legislation proposed by newly elected Representative Sam Moore, an individual whom Gregory helped to get elected, that would allow registered sex offenders to go to our schools or anywhere else that minors congregate. Gregory supported Moore’s campaign as a campaign consultant and donated to Moore’s campaign. This information is documented in Moore’s campaign finance disclosure, which is public record.
Said Reeves, “Sam Moore’s legislation is truly reckless. For him to push legislation that would endanger our children by allowing registered sex offenders into our schools is irresponsible and dangerous. I find it outrageous that Charles Gregory was instrumental in the election of Moore and is his closest ally at the Capital.”
“I cannot stand for Charles Gregory’s and Sam Moore’s brand of governing when governing, to them, apparently means passing legislation that makes it easier for criminals to harm our families. As a former prosecutor, I know that it is the number one job of our government to keep us safe, and I will continue working hard to earn the trust and support of people of House District 34 in order to restore sanity and provide them with the leadership they deserve,” continued Reeves.
Sam Moore and Charles Gregory have voted in lock step in the last week with a string of irresponsible votes, and on Wednesday, they were two of only three ‘no’ votes to a bill that would make it a crime to send a nude picture of someone without their permission.
