According to unofficial results from the Cherokee County Elections Office, Sam Moore has won the runoff for House District 22, besting Meagan Biello with 55.6 percent of the vote.
The race was a special election runoff to fill the seat of the late Rep. Calvin Hill, R-Hickory Flat.
Moore won the four-person election on Jan. 7, but did not take 50 percent of the vote at that time.
Out of the 10 precincts involved in the Feb. 4 runoff, 10.7 percent of eligible voters went to the polls. Moore had 1,285 votes to Biello’s 1,026. Both candidates are Republicans.
