Price Votes to Improve Obamacare Transparency
Congressman Tom Price, M.D. (GA-06) applauded the passage of the Exchange Information Disclosure Act(H.R. 3362), which requires the Department of Health and Human Services to provide detailed statistics related to enrollments in Obamacare, saying:
“For months now, the Obama Administration has failed to provide Congress and the public with more complete information regarding the enrollment of Americans in the exchanges. To date, we have not received accurate, detailed accounts of the enrollment process – from the number of folks who have lost coverage to the number who have actually received confirmation that they are, indeed, enrolled.
“President Obama ought to urge the Democrat-controlled Senate to pass this bill and stand ready to sign it into law. His emphatic promises to maintain the ‘most transparent administration ever’ seem especially confusing when the White House announces he would veto a bill meant to enhance such transparency.
“Most importantly, this is not a partisan issue. The American people deserve to know how their money is being used and the efficacy of the programs they fund. Today’s passage is a step in the right direction, and it is my hope that our friends on the other side of the aisle put aside politics and join us in improving transparency for American patients, consumers and taxpayers.”
