Thanks to all who pledged donations to help this senior girl. With your help, she’ll take her freedom ride on Monday, head first to the vet for a checkup and any treatment she needs, then on to a foster home.

To cover your pledge, you may donate online to Dixie Dog Rescue, or mail a check to:

I didn’t know this at the time I asked for donations yesterday, but the group that saved her is the same one that saved our coonhound, Dolly. Dixie Dog Rescue is a small group, but they do an excellent job of saving dogs, especially those that are old, infirm, or overlooked. I support them 100%. Noel1

Noel is a two-year old, 40-pound female foxhound who has been spayed, vetted and is ready to come home for the holidays. She’s very sweet, tender, and affectionate, and was part of a pack of hunting dogs. Because she was an owner surrender, she is among the first eligible for euthanasia. She’s not yet used to walking on a leash, but she loves people and her affection for them means she’ll be relatively easy to train.

We have a coonhound mix named Dolly, and the coonhound and foxhound are very similar in terms of build and temperament. Hound dogs are usually very good companions, energetic outdoors, and couch potatos inside. If you’re a runner, you’ll love having a hound dog as your daily companion.

Noel is available for adoption from Walton County Animal Shelter in Monroe, Ga.

Emma

Emma is a two-year old, eight pound Chihuahua who is sweet and tiny and is housebroken. She’s also an owner surrender. She is available for adoption from Walton County Animal Shelter in Monroe, Ga.
