WARNER ROBINS — The city saw a rash of surprise candidates in the final day of qualifying for the Nov. 5 election, including a new mayoral contender.

Eva K. Folse, 66, turned the competition for the mayor’s seat into a six-way race. Folse, who had not previously announced her bid for the seat, will face former Councilman Mike Brashear, Robins Air Force Base employee Chuck Chalk, Councilman Daron Lee, former Public Works Director Joe Musselwhite and former firefighter Randy Toms in the general election.

She could not immediately be reached for comment.
