Savannah and the seven smaller municipalities had no problem coming up with ways to help spend an estimated $370 million in projected sales tax revenue.

On Tuesday, they presented the results of their brainstorming to Chatham County Commissioners, who have the ultimate say on what will be on a proposed sales tax referendum this fall.

Mayors and city managers from Savannah, Bloomingdale, Garden City, Pooler, Port Wentworth, Thunderbolt, Tybee Island and Vernonburg outlined a range of road, drainage, recreation and building projects during the special called meeting.

Amounts ranged from $250,000 sought by Vernonburg Intendant James Hungerpiller to more than $120 million requested by Savannah City Manager Stephanie Cutter.
