Cherokee Tribune – Sheriff to be ‘roasted’ at charity event

The heat is being turned up on the Cherokee County sheriff, but all for a good cause.

Sheriff Roger Garrison has agreed to be “roasted” by community leaders at the 10th annual Charity Roast to benefit the Malon D. Mimms Boys & Girls Club set for September, the organization announced Wednesday.

“I’m honored to offer myself to help raise these much needed funds for one of the most worthy causes in Cherokee County,” Garrison said.

The event, which annually draws more than 500 people, is Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Conference Center in Canton.
