The candidates vying for the late State Rep. Calvin Hill’s seat will continue campaigning throughout the holidays, with the special election set for Jan. 7.
The four State House District 22 hopefuls include Ball Ground residents Meagan Biello and Jeff Duncan, as well as Macedonia resident Sam Moore and Free Home resident Nate Cochran.
All of the candidates said if elected, they would support the proposed House Bill 707, The Georgia Health Care Freedom and Affordable Care Act Non-Compliance Act, that is aimed at making it illegal for any state agency to assist in any implementation of the ACA. Local representatives Michael Caldwell, R-Woodstock, and Scot Turner, R-Holly Springs, co-sponsored the legislation prefiled Dec. 16. All of the candidates also said they would support legislation that would halt Obamacare in Georgia.
