Republican Loretta Lepore Announces for State House District 54

Buckhead Businesswoman to Run for Georgia House of Representatives

Loretta Lepore HeadshotAtlanta, GA (August 13, 2013) – Buckhead small business owner Loretta Lepore announced that she formally filed the requisite paperwork to run for Georgia House of Representatives.  Lepore is running for Georgia’s 54th House District to replace Representative Edward Lindsey.

“After much thought and discussion with my family and friends, I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Georgia House of Representatives,” Lepore said.  “I am encouraged by the support we have already received from so many throughout our community, people who agree with me that we must elect those who have a true desire to serve our community and who can bring practical business experience to the State House.”

Loretta currently runs a communications firm in Atlanta offering communications expertise and strategy to its clients including press relations, social media strategy, issues management as well as media and presentation training.  Loretta has advised Fortune 500 clients, entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations.  She began her career as a reporter and anchor for WJTC-TV in Pensacola, Florida. She went on to join CNN in 1992 and anchored broadcasts on CNN Headline News for six years.  She has covered international news events for multiple CNN networks and earned a national news Emmy for her role in the network’s coverage of the 1996 Olympic Park Bombing.

A well-regarded Republican activist, she is a member of the Fulton County Republican Party, the Georgia Republican Foundation and she is active within several professional organizations, including the Conservative Policy Leadership Institute, Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Technology Association of Georgia and the Atlanta Press Club, among others.  Loretta earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.  She and her husband, Earl, live in Buckhead where they are raising their two sons.  Loretta and her family attend Northside United Methodist Church in Atlanta, where Loretta and Earl have served as Sunday school teachers.
